For science we are learning about: Spiders and Insects Birds Fish Reptiles and Amphibians Mammals We tied this in with Wings, Legs, and Feet Teeth and Beaks Fur and Feather Animal Adaptations We made an Animal classification book and will end it with a trip to the ZOO! When we talked about Mammals we talked about how mammals breast feed and come out of their mothers body not out of an egg.  I am open with my daughters about birth and I nurse my children so that is not weird for them.  But what was weird for my daughter is that Cows Nurse!?".........and she is udderly (lol) confused why their breast milk is ok for humans to drink?..... Emmie also wants to know, "If dad has hair everywhere that makes him a mammal so why doesn't he breast feed since mammals breast feed?" Who knew this was going to be a science lesson with so many questions?

So part of homeschooling today meant taking the boy to his one year check up......I love that while homeschooling my kids get practical application that they will be able to use as parents, then we came home and compared how much everyone weighed when they were one year old and here were the break downs: Lizzie - 24 pounds 4oz...........31 1/8 inches.............18 3/8 head Emmie - 21 pounds 3oz..........31 1/4 inches............18 1/2 head Madie - 22 pounds 6oz...........29 1/2 inches.................18 3/4 head Now for the boy......you can see the girls were all close in size 25 pounds 3oz...........31 1/4 inches..........19.25 head He's got a BIG head!

I have 3 beautiful VERY easy daughters.......I'm going to be honest.....my hubby and I thought we would have all girls.....my mother really wanted a grandson......I blame her......so we had our boy and I thought he would be just like his sisters.....BOY was I WRONG......he is really his own breed......he is super smart and very inquisitive.......he has lots of words for a one year old.....and tries to figure out how things work and take them apart.......with that said he is TROUBLE.....he is into everything....with my girls I never put locks on anything.....he is a full time job and while homeschooling he can make it very hard.  His saving grace is not only do I love him so much he is just so darn cute! While at homeschool coop group today there was another little boy his age who sat happily in his stroller for 3 hours......my boy NEVER sits in a stroller and in the first 15 minutes he was covered in mud and found the only electrical outlet outside and figured out how to open up th...

I'm not going to lie there a hard days with homeschooling and he last 2 days have been that way.   Today this was my schedule: Leave house at 9:15 - go to gym & science class until 11:45......while here Evan the boy got covered in mud! 12:00- drop my three year old off at preschool Grab a fast bite to eat at Wendy's because art class starts at 12:30..... 12:30 to 1:30 art class.....chase my little boy around some more 1:45 run to shoe store to buy the boy new shoes while he destroys the store 2:30 pick up my three year old from preschool.......she had her first accident in a year....weird......run home real fast to change her. 3:00pm meet my dad for late lunch early dinner at Chuckie Cheese 5:00 library and post office 5:30 home for the first time since 9:15..... No real homeschooling done........ But the best part of the day is I have a wonderful friend who knew life has been a little crazy and my boy has been teething so we have not been sleeping and he has been super fus...

Today was free museum day so I twisted my husbands arm and took the kids to a hole in the wall dinosaur museum. The best part was really all the outdoor activities they had. The actually indoor museum part was not all that great. My youngest daughter on the little kids zip line. The big zipline! Look how high we were can you see by husband standing on the ground watching? My oldest did not really want to go but she decided to give it a try. Merry Go Round! This bridge was actually pretty scary, if you fell off of it sure the net would catch you but you would also be in the water! My little man clapping!
