I'm not going to lie.....I want to make sure that Emmie is NOT missing anything by going to a B&M school.....soooo.....I stalk 1st grade teacher websites, blogs, and face books.....does this make me a horrible person?   Also I am friends with a few 1st grade teachers and have friends who have kids in 1st grade so I ask them 100 questions about what they are doing in school.  I want to make sure Emmie is not missing out!!!!! So a few of the first grade B&M classes carved pumpkins in their class....I never did this in school!  But I always carved pumpkins as a kid.....32 years straight!  I love to carve pumpkins!  So here are the pumpkins from this year..... Our church had a primary program this past Sunday where the kids sing and read parts for the first hour of church.  Emmies part was: I can follow Jesus Christ example by being a missionairy.  I can also serve my family. I can help my mom with my baby brother Evan.  We can go to church every Sunday! Emmie wrote this all by herself!  She also knew ALL the songs they sang!  Way to go Emmie, Lizzie, and Maddie!! See Emmie gets lots of "On-Stage" experience without B&M school!

My oldest daughter was in her 4th grade school musical and she got to sing a duet with her BFF. She has the prettiest voice! Do I feel like my daughter Emmie, that I homeschool misses out on things like this?  Nope I sure don't!  Emmie has girlscouts, piano, and church to keep her busy enough! 

I have had a nasty head cold all week.....it has put me in a bad mood, tired mood, and just plain exhausted.......Emmie had a conference call with her teacher today from 1-1:30.....but what I didn't read was her test that was to be going over during the conference call was 12:00-12:30....... When I realized it and tried to log into the test center my version was outdated and needed updated and refigured!  She missed the test!  I am QUITTING until I feel better!  I feel horrible we missed it!

I am still not an art and music fan......I signed Emmie and Lizzie my oldest daughter up for piano lessons which they love and I am counting that as music.  Emmie does take an art class twice a month and I do art with her when we do science or literature.

In math we are doing subtraction double digits where you have to barrow.  Example: 75-48=? I thought this would be hard for Emmie but it has been very easy so we are now moving on to word problems and then we are done with 2st grade math, we have done 70% of math already!

Today was my daughters 4th Birthday and she had a little Spider-Man party because she LOVES Spider-Man! She loves Spider-Man because the deep blue of Spider-Man is the same color as her eyes.  She had a few friends over her age and a few adults who have played a part in her life. I tried to make hot dog mummies, you can see a few look good then I just gave up and did a hot dog roll up, it was taking to long to do 30 hotdogs! Red and Blue juice, red and blue jello, with red apples! My two oldest daughters dressed up as a wit h and a clown and did the piñata.....Lizzie ditched school today she did not want to miss the party!  this is Sister Flory doing the piñata she is our adopted grandma! We are very lucky that my husband has family a little over an hour away that we love and they have a neighbor who has a little girl who my daughters love playing with.  We decided to go visit today and we were going to go Trick R Treating but it was in the low 40's with snow on the ground in some spots so we decided to go to a bounce house place instead.  The girls had a great time and my daughter is turning 4 on Monday so we did a little cake celebration also!  We will count this as PE time!!!!  

We still get to attend school events......We actually had 2 in the same night to attend, one for my oldest daughter and one for my youngest daughter.  At my youngest daughters school they had face painting and a petting zoo!  It was snowing before we left!  I do not like snow and pumpkins mixed together!

 Sorry this is sideways......I hate to admit this but I am learning a lot in 1st grade this year......did you know there are 4 different types of clouds....I had NO CLUE!  These are the 4 different types the girls painted and learned about today.

I have been telling my older daughter if she can't pull up her grades that we were going to start homeschooling in January, I have talked with her teacher about this.  Conferences are coming up so each child had to write a letter to their parent why they should come to their conference this is what Liz wrote: Dear Mom and Dad, Can you come to my conference?   I Want to prove to you that I don't need to be home schooled and I can stay in school.  I promise I will homeschool 5th-6th.  So come to my conference on  November 6th so I can still prove I can stay in school! K12 is having an art competition and Emmie wanted to enter it, the title of the competition is Winter Olympics 2014....this is all her own handwriting!

Our local fire station was having an open house so we decided to take the kids and tie it into learning.

This has to do with my 6 year old daughter that I am eschooling. This is the scariest moment of my life.....I got up a little past midnight last night it was pitch black except for the glow on the TV screen which was on but no volume.  No other light in the house was on and since we don't live in the city there are no street lights or city lights.  Just deep darkness.  I went to the bathroom next door to our room where my husband and baby peacefully.  I decided after I went to the bathroom to check on my three sleeping beauty's down the hall in the same room.  They also had their small TV on with no volume that lite their large room up a little, but not much.  Enough for me to walk close up to each girl and kiss them on the check.  I went to my youngest daughters bed and there she laid curled up in her Spider-Man blanket asleep.  Then I went to my next daughters bed and went to find her all covered up in her polka dot sheets, as I went to uncover her I quickly realized she was

I have really been praying and trying to decide whether I should homeschool my oldest daughter.  Today I told her I felt that at the middle of the semester: January 10th we should homeschool for the rest of the year.  She broke into tears and said, "If I homeschool Lindsey (name has been changed) will not have any friends, I am the only one who talks to her and is nice to her!  What will happen to her if I am gone?"  How do you respond to that?  She is so sensitive and sweet, I just love her love for others.

We went skating Tuesday night for girlscouts and Emmies BFF got a hair line fracture in her growth plate in her elbow......so sad.......feel better RY!!!!!!!  Well Emmie is pretty good at skating and she fell and look at her knee!!!!

Best part of homeschooling is Emmie gets to do her own crazy hair......lol Today we broke out the math blocks to learn more about place value as we start adding and subtracting double digits that equal over 100 like 75 + 67!!!!!!

my oldest daughter had the day off from public b&m school but not Emmie my K12 kiddo.  we decided not to do too much homeschooling today.  We decided to have 2 fellow homeschool girls over for a first time play date and the girls had a great time!

For literature we are reading sheep in a jeep and re-acted the story!

I am still trying to understand all the lingo and here is one I understand f2f.....means face to face.....we have to do 4 of these a year. today we did number 3.......Emmie had her first in person test, we have had one over the phone test.  This was a writing test, pass or fail......I'm sure she will pass. It had 2 parts, first a long dictation sentence....second she had to write about grapes, she said she wrote: Grapes are purple.  Grapes are good to eat.  I love to eat grapes.  Her grandma took her to the test and then afterwards she went on a date with grandma and grandpa to breakfast at  Ihop.......lucky girl.....then grandma took her shopping at Justice!!!!!! Another word they use is b&m........Which means brick and mortar.......I'm not sure why it is used but it kinda seems negative to me, I could be wrong though!

We have the dream coat, the Pharos dream with the fat cows, and the family tree.

For history we read about Abraham moving to Canaan and now we are reading about Joseph being sold to Egypt......you sure couldn't get these lessons in a public school.  After reading the bible stories straight out of the bible we decided to watch the movie with Donny Osmond.....it is one of my all time favorite plays!   I remember seeing it at a play house called Music Circus when I was a little girl and I remember at intermission I turned to my mom and said, I think this story is from the bible!  When I was a teenager my best friend Laura and I would play the soundtrack CD in my car and we had all the songs memorized!

With the K12 program it tells you how much percent you have done and when your end date is.  As long as your end date is before June 7th you are fine....well we hit 50% in math.....due to be done in February! 

my daughter has had a planters wart on her foot for a year, it was HUGE for a wart....and ugly.  We have tried over the counters medications and tried freezing it off at the doctors.  No luck!  So we went to the podiatrist today and they said it needed cut out......if you live anywhere near the state of Ohio you could probably hear her screaming!  But it is gone now.....the doctor told her to take the day off, take some Motrin and rest.....no chance of that we have a math test to do today!

My 3 year old Loves Spiderman, she loves doing homeschool with us and I am afraid when she is ready for Kindergarten in 2 years she will be at a 2nd grade level.  My 1st grade loves to sit down with her and quiz her on letter sounds!

We took our animal book and spent the day at the zoo!
