1st Day......always the hardest

You know it takes a while to get into a routine.....it wasn't bad......last year the first day was BAD....today was just trying to get into the grove.........

Here is our schedule.....

Math......do 1 lesson a day
Vocab.....she does 2 lessons a day online only (for 10 a week)
Literature......do reading eggs (online program), read for 20 minutes on her kindle (she loves her kindle fire hd that K12 sent her), do a lesson online (we did 4 today)

This is what are planner looks like I  am not sure I love doing it this way...I did last year but not too sure this year......
Spelling - Introduce spelling words on Monday practice through out the week with fun games test on Friday (the words were really easy today)
Handwriting...... She writes in her journal for 20 minutes....todays topic was what did you do this summer......writes 10 minutes on making her handwriting better....she already has great handwriting....then does a lesson out of her book!
LUNCH!!!!!!!!!!
She of course has science, history, art, and music but I will not start that this week :)

This is the name of the tumor Brad has....I just googled it and it is typically something children get.  This is how the appointment went....... The doctor walked in the room with a smile and said, "You know don't you?" "You called and found out the results?"  I told him I didn't and his smile got bigger :)  He still didn't tell us he did a few coordination tests on Brad and sat down and said, "You have a Pilocytic Astrocytoma WHO Grade 1 tumor.....and if you have a brain tumor this is the type of tumor you want to have!" YA!!!! Here are the details:  -Brad has had this tumor for a long time, something happened that weekend he had the bad headaches that caused the tumor to bleed.....that's why no one was sure if it was a brain bleed or tumor. -The pathologist at the hospital could not determine what it was so it was sent off to Cleveland clinic for another set of eyes. -The brain bleed is what was causing the headache and pain not

Week 2

Well I am preparing for week 2 it is a short week with labor day off. I feel better this week but still nervous.  I am really good at teaching math, spelling, vocab, and writing. I am NOT good at teaching literature....I dont like it all actually. I have yet to figure out Art and Music because I personally think it is a waste of time.....I am not into that stuff.  I signed Emmie up for a art class every other tuesday for an hour, isnt that good enough?  How does art help me in my life today?  I would rather just do arts and crafts.....how much art do you get in a public school?  And then music, can't we listen to it on the radio in the car and consider it good?  How was music in 1st grade helped me be a better person today?  Please someone if you feel different tell me!!!!! Then there is history and science.  I want this to be FUN!  History is Ancient Egypt, and Science is on measuring right now....and the lessons are boring and I do not have time to make them better! HELP

Horrifying Experience

This has to do with my 6 year old daughter that I am eschooling. This is the scariest moment of my life.....I got up a little past midnight last night it was pitch black except for the glow on the TV screen which was on but no volume.  No other light in the house was on and since we don't live in the city there are no street lights or city lights.  Just deep darkness.  I went to the bathroom next door to our room where my husband and baby peacefully.  I decided after I went to the bathroom to check on my three sleeping beauty's down the hall in the same room.  They also had their small TV on with no volume that lite their large room up a little, but not much.  Enough for me to walk close up to each girl and kiss them on the check.  I went to my youngest daughters bed and there she laid curled up in her Spider-Man blanket asleep.  Then I went to my next daughters bed and went to find her all covered up in her polka dot sheets, as I went to uncover her I quickly realized she was
