The flu has hit our house!

Two more hit the dust with the stomach flu!

They actually threw up at the same time!
Lizzie says she is sleeping outside! Matter of time sweetie......so sorry!

Horrifying Experience

This has to do with my 6 year old daughter that I am eschooling. This is the scariest moment of my life.....I got up a little past midnight last night it was pitch black except for the glow on the TV screen which was on but no volume.  No other light in the house was on and since we don't live in the city there are no street lights or city lights.  Just deep darkness.  I went to the bathroom next door to our room where my husband and baby peacefully.  I decided after I went to the bathroom to check on my three sleeping beauty's down the hall in the same room.  They also had their small TV on with no volume that lite their large room up a little, but not much.  Enough for me to walk close up to each girl and kiss them on the check.  I went to my youngest daughters bed and there she laid curled up in her Spider-Man blanket asleep.  Then I went to my next daughters bed and went to find her all covered up in her polka dot sheets, as I went to uncover ...

GENDER BOYS VS GIRLS This next topic is very controversial right now.  Dr. Phil actually just did a special last week called, "The Pronoun Debate" and touched a lot on this topic.  I am reading a really good book Raising an Emotionally Intelligent Children by John M. Gottman. It starts with taking a test to see what type of parent you are.  There are four different types of parenting styles which are:  The Dismissing Parent  disengages, ridicules, or curbs all negative emotions, feels uncertainty and fears feeling out of control, uses distraction techniques, feels that emotions are toxic or unhealthy, uses the passage of time as a cure-all replacement for problem-solving. Effects : Children learn that there is something wrong with them, cannot regulate their emotions, feel that what they are feeling is not appropriate, not right, and abnormal. The Disapproving Parent  is similar to the dismissing parent but more negative, judgmental and critical, controlling, manipulative, authoritative, overly concerned with discipline, and strangely unconcerned with the meaning of a child’s emotional expression.
